OOTN Feb. 8. 2015

by Sophie Langlois

Tonight I went out to dinner with the girls in town and while I was getting ready I decided to change up my look and try wearing a pants outfit rather than just throwing on a dress and heels. I kept it simple with my shirt and pants, wearing a black cropped cashmere sweater from Bloomingdales and my black Hudson Nico Mid Rise skinnies. Then over that I put on a long fuzzy vest by Melody from Bloomingdales. I have been loving the whole faux fur/ fuzzy coat and vest trend this season and was so pumped to try it out. I have been seeing this trend a lot, especially on the street style scene in NYC. I love how this vest has some color to it, a brown/ greyish fur, and is not just plain black, not to mention the fact that it is soooo cozy. I kept the jewelry simple, wearing my hand of Fatima necklace and a pair of pearls. I made the outfit a little more dressy by throwing on a pair of black peep toe Stuart Weitzman heeled booties. Lastly, I carried my Loeffler Randal junior work tote to add a pop of much needed print! All in all, this is an outfit that I am so going to wear again!

OOTN Jan. 24. 2015

Do you ever just want to liven up your classic Friday night party look? I always find that when it comes around to the weekend I tend to wear the same type of outfit whenever I go out, a pair of leggings, a brandy shirt and converse. Although this combo is cute, I wanted to try something new and liven up my casual going out look. I have been really into the whole graphic t street style trend that has been popular this year so I decide to try and add a graphic t into my look. For my pants, I wore a pair of my holy grail Hudson Nico Mid Rise Skinnies in black. Then I put on my new Sincerely Jules t shirt with my black Elie Tahari cropped jacket over it. I paired this outfit with a pair of black faux snake skin vans and a gold and grey necklace from Bloomingdales. I love how this whole outfit, although it lacks color, gives off that NYC street style. I think that the graphic t and vans really tie in the whole look and I absolutely love the black and white look. This street style trend is totally something I am going to try and recreate again!

Semi Formal Attire

by Sophie Langlois

At some point in a girls life she will be faced with the hard decision of what to wear to a special event. Whether its semi, prom, a formal, or a special gala the decision of what dress to wear is always a hard one. I have been to many of these events before and you would be amazed at all the types of dresses I have seen; from skin tight body cons and sky high heels to high low dresses and flats. At the end of the day, it really is what ever makes you feel happiest and prettiest. However, one thing I will say from past experience, wear something that when you look back on it you will think about how much you loved your dress not "what was I thinking?!" Now, as the first semi of my season rolled around, I knew I wanted to wear something colorful, something that would stand out. I always find that, especially in the winter time, girls tend to lean more towards dark colored dresses like blacks and browns, which is fine if thats what you like. But i really think that especially in the winter time a pop of color is much needed, even if you just wore a simple black dress with a colorful statement necklace.

For my first semi of the year, I wore a red lace Free People dress with a pair of nude heels and some simple gold jewelry. I wanted to keep the dress as the main piece of the outfit so I kept everything else pretty simple. I love this dress because of its color and cut. It has a low deep V in the front and the back and then flounces out like a traditional skirt dress. The deep V is very flattering and adds a glam look to it and the flounceyness of the skirt is nice because it keeps it fun and playful. This dress was super comfortable and not something I had to worry about during the night. For my jewelry, I knew I wanted to wear something simple and a little bit longer so that it would tie in with the deep V of the dress. I wore this gorgeous horse shoe gold necklace with it and loved it! It was so pretty and simple with such a bold colored dress that it all really went well together. I also threw on a gold Flash Tat to add a little sparkle and just to add some fun to the look! Lastly, I wore a pair of nude pumps to tie in with the gold necklace and give myself a little bit of height for the night!

My New Years OOTN

by Sophie Langlois

It's a night that comes around once every year. A night where you dress up in sparkles and a tight dress, stay up til mid night and then wake up the next morning with a head ache and a new year ahead of you. But, what do you wear for your last night in the year? What will be your last outfit EVER of that year?! I'm a huge believer in dressing in what makes you feel pretty and most confident so, for my last outfit of the year I wore something I love, my Hudson Nicos, Hoss Boots and Eli Tahari black jacket. These three pieces have been staples in my wardrobe this year so I thought what would be better than wearing them on New Years! However, I didn't want to wear all black, as it was New Years, so I added a much needed pop of color with my deep blueish purple shirt from L.A.M.B. I love the drapey cut of this shirt and thought that it really added a city glam vibe to the whole outfit. Now that I have added my color, any New Years outfit also needs some sparkle. So I wore my statement sparkle necklace from J Crew. I love how this necklace sits right before the neck of the shirt begins, really tying in the whole outfit. Don't forget to add a little clutch or card holder for your night out! Have a fabulous new year full of love and fun!
