Miami 2018

by Sophie Langlois

Had such an amazing time soaking up some sun in Miami this March! Here are some photos of what I wore and how I styled my new Spring pieces. The shopping down there was amazing and got me so excited for the summer trends: I cannot wait to show you all what I am going to be wearing this summer... big things are coming! The links below have some of the pieces that I am wearing in the photos.

Simple, comfortable, and still a little summery!

Just like literally every other pair I have from Top Shop, I am obsessed with these jeans. They're high rise, stretchy, and skinny - great for every day wear or even to dress up! I paired them with a simple and slightly summery white cut off shirt (find a similar one here) and then a pair of white leveled sneakers with embroidery on them.

Happy Fall

What I'm Feelin For Fall

by Sophie Langlois

IMG_5589.jpg

This past summer I was an intern at a luxury women's lifestyle boutique and had the privilege of sitting in on most of their buyer sessions for the fall 2017 collection. Not only did this get me very excited for fall, but it also gave me a preview of some of the trends and pieces that will be on the hot list this season.

Before I dive in, I think it is important to note that just because something is considered a "essential item for fall" doesn't mean that I am going to be obsessed with it. I really am not a big trend girl: I wear what I like, what is comfortable, and what makes me happy, thats the bottom line. All of these pieces are things I have not only seen "on trend" for the fall, but they are also items that I truly love. So, lets get into it, shall we?

1. Chunky Knits

I. Love. Sweaters. I have more sweaters then I do sweatpants, which that really says something because I live for a good pair of sweats. However, as much as I love them, I am INCREDIBLY picky. Not to high of a neckline, lose, but not to lose to make me look like I am a teenage boy wearing a trash bag. Yes, my picky-ness is beyond weird, I know. But, because of this, I have tried on just about every sweater brand known to (wo)man. So, what makes a good sweater? Well, there are two key components: material (soft, but doesn't shed), and length (if you want cropped, it must cover your boobs, please. If you want long, it cannot swallow you: people need to know you have a waist). This fall I have seeing a lot of simple, but durable knit wear. Simple cuts, thick and cozy material - just what I like.

2. Dark Wash & Embroidered Skinnies

They are an essential in your closet, regardless of the season, but this fall I have been seeing a lot of very nice cut dark wash jeans, usually with some type of raw edge at the bottom. Additionally, I have seen a lot of embroidered jeans, which have kind of been a transition piece from summer to fall for me. I also just love anything a little funkey, so jeans with stars all over them or laces up the side right up my alley!

3. The Not So Basic (casual) Sneaker

I have yet to find my perfect pair, but I have been seeing TONS of adorable casual wear sneakers. I know this sneaker trend has gone on for a while, but I'm talking about the step up from your original black and white Addidas. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good pair of Superga's or Sam Smith's, but I have been loving the non traditional and not necessarily name brand sneaks. I've seen a lot of simple details, from denim stars to subtle floral embroidery, that I think are just so cute!

Happy Fall!

For my graduation party, I hosted a tropical themed celebration with a bunch of my friends. So, in light of the theme, we all wore Hawaiian and tropical-esq attire. I mainly did this theme so that I could get a few pieces from the brand Show Me Your MuMu, which I am now in love with. I wore their two piece set with a pair of simple wedges and I think that it was just adorable! MuMu's clothing is so bold on its own that you don't really have to add much to make the outfit complete: easy and simple!
