I was inspired by the J. Crew fall collection today and decided to try out the button down and pull over look. I wore a red, green and grey cozy flannel from Lucky and over that I layered my J. Crew grey long sleeved waffle sweater. I cuffed the flannel over the sweater and pulled the collar out from underneath it so that the flannel could be seen. I absolutely loved this look because it looked so polished and preppy but was also so comfortable and warm! I paired the sweater and flannel with a pair of distressed dark wash jeans, bean boots and my hunter green Barbour vest. I loved the addition of the dark wash jean and the bean boots mixed in with the hunter green and red of my flannel. This look was very all american prep school and something I am going to recreate over and over again!

Happy Sunday :)

For my last night out in Mexico I went bold with my outfit- my motto was "go big or go home!" I wore a dark periwinkle romper by Lush.  I absolutely loved wearing this romper. The detailing at the waist is an edgy twist to the average cut of a romper and is also very slimming. Wearing a romper was not only fun but it was also much easier and more comfortable than wearing a dress! For my shoes I wore a pair of tall black pumps with felt cut outs by Sam Edelman. These shoes livened up the look and added some pattern and texture to the outfit. For accessories I wore my new necklace with the hand of Fatima and evil eye on it, and I also wore a pair of metallic statement earrings to tie in with the shoes. The necklace was my favorite part of the outfit because it added the perfect amount of elegance. I loved how I was able to take such a simple yet elegant romper and livened it up with just a few accessories and a pair of bold heels. This was definitely my favorite outfit this whole trip!!

Need an outfit for a night out on the town? This is my new go to sophisticated glam look! It may look like black on black but my bag and my necklace add some bold color to the look. The floral spark detail on the back of my shirt adds a touch of glamour. For my shoes, I have on a pair of tall black lace up heel booties that I borrowed from my friend. The wooden heel adds some color to the all black shoe and the edgyness of the whole laces on heels look helped to even out the outfit. For pants, I have on a pair of black leggings that have faux leather up to the knees. I love these leggings because they are not only very cozy to wear, but they also are very flattering to any body type. The faux leather on the knees is a great addition to the pant and makes them unique from just your avarage leggings. For my shirt I have on a black  short sleeved high low shirt from J.O.A. The front of this shirt is made from what I think of as the softest material ever! However, my favorite part about this shirt is the back. The back of the shirt is embroidered with foral print sparkles! You would never expect it from the front, as it is so plain, but then when you turn around and the back is exposed it is such a nice suprise and gives a very glamourus effect to any look. For my accessories I borrowed a orange and gold statement necklace from my friend and paired my bright orange Rebecca Minkoff side bag with it. By adding these bright accessories to the outfit, it makes the front a little less plain and brings together the whole look! This outfit is a definite keeper.

happy Friday :)

Mastering the country chic look for a trip to the gorgeous pyramids in Mexico City today with some fur and plaid prints! For my shoes, I have on my black vans. These shoes are so ideal for walking around all day as they are comfortable on my feet and still look stylish and adorable with any outfit. Suprise! I have on my Hudson Nico Mid Rise Skinnies in a dark wash- you get the point. For my shirt, I have on a light weight flannel from Free People. I love this flannel because it's different than just your avarage button up flannel. It has a hood in the back and is a pull over with four buttons half way down the front of the shirt. At the bottom of the shirt it flares out and adds a unique twist to just your avarage flannel. Over that I paired my black fur vest by noriko from bloomingdales. I love the contrast between the country of my shirt and the edgy street style of my vest! For jewlery I kept it simple with my earrings, just wearing a pair of pearls, then I added a new necklace that I picked up in down town Mexico yesterday. I am absolutely in love with it- it has a hand of Fatima with an evil eye that is supposed to ward off evil. I carried my orange Rebecca Minkoff side bag to add a pop of color and match with my flannel. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, it's sunny here in Mexico!!

Happy Friday :)
